Street Rankings 2007 for Wales

The release of today’s figures for the Mouseprice.com Annual Street Rankings 2007, an annual survey highlighting the most expensive streets in England and Wales based on Land Registry data, shows that the most expensive street in Wales, Cefn Coed Road in CF23, has an average property price of £698,467.

Cefn Coed Road is situated on the North eastern border of Cardiff. Unsurprisingly, the following three most expensive streets, Twynccyn, Druidstone Road and Cefn Mably Park, all lie in CF postcodes, which surround the Cardiff area. These areas are in close proximity to the city, but with the attractive advantage of easy access to the coast and countryside.

The fifth most expensive street is ‘Village Walks’, in the LL12 area. Although not a Cardiff suburb, we see the same theme in the location as in the expensive Cardiff suburbs, LL12 provides easy access to cities (it is close to Wrexham and the English border), as well as providing easy access to the northern Welsh coast and the countryside of Snowdonia.

In Wales, the most expensive streets tend to be concentrated in a number of postcode districts. SA3 is responsible for 5 of the Top 100 most expensive streets. Other postcode districts with a high proportion of the most exclusive streets in Wales are CF14 and CF64. Again following the trend of areas with easy access to both a major town and the coast, CF23 is on the northern edge of Cardiff whilst close to the sea. CF64 similar lies close to the capital, but on the southern side, and borders the sea.
